Northern lights season kickoff: spectacular skies await

As the dark nights return to some of the world’s premier spots for viewing the northern lights, the season is off to a promising start with significant geomagnetic activity expected. This weekend, activity levels could reach an impressive Kp-6.33. With the sun nearing its solar maximum, this season is shaping up to be one of the best for aurora viewing.
