A farewell northern lights show at the end of the season

April 03, 2023

27-day aurora forecast based on data from SWPC

The geomagnetic activity will be getting higher and higher each week in April. The sun has decided to give a farewell northern lights show at the end of the season.

This week's forecast is not promising, with a maximum of Kp4 expected on Wednesday. Still, it can be a lovely week in the polar northern lights regions where the season is coming to its end. The second part of the month is fantastic for the year-round aurora regions and those where the season lasts longer.

The moon is bright this week and will illuminate the landscape very well in the coming nights. If the sky is clear, you can take amazing pictures even if the northern lights are not bright and active enough.

And we are waiting for the solar storm on April 20-21. Let's see the updated 27-day forecast next Monday.
